Elizabeth Longshaw

Aside from being the wife of the Co-Superintendent, which brings many challenges of its own, I sit on the Circuit Leadership Team. This is due to my role as a Circuit Safeguarding Officer which I share with Carol Stowe. I primarily look after the churches of Chard, Crewkerne, Ilminster and Broadway Hill, Kingsbury Episcopi, and Netherhay.

I am also a Circuit Representative for the bi-annual District Synod and am a Local Preacher. I received accreditation in 2022, just before moving into this area. Before then I was a Worship leader in various Circuits before I had the call to preach. Some people heard that call before I did!

If that is not enough to keep me occupied, life away from the Church involves running a small private practice as a counsellor. I find it an honour and privilege to walk alongside people who are feeling depressed or anxious, are grieving, or struggling with low self-esteem or just with life. I have witnessed many people leave me feeling much stronger and who feel able to live a more fulfilling life.

I do have time, believe it or not, for hobbies and these include travel, music, gardening, puzzles, quizzes, and socialising with friends.
