North Curry Concert with The Chalke Newton Band

The Chalke Newton Band recreates the musical world and sounds of the early Nineteenth century, drawing on the music of village, militia, town, church and theatre band …sounds that people danced to, sung along with, marched to and heard in the theatre, fairs and the circus. The band features fiddle, C Clarinet and the lost sound of England the Military Serpent Colin Thompson – fiddle Tim Hill C Clarinet Phil Humphries – military serpent The concert will be accompanied by a small exhibition put together by Tim about these bands and outdoor music and sound. The last concert Tim put on for us in 2018 was a huge success! Do come along and share in a wonderful evening of music, refreshments and fun! Entrance: £10 and U-18s £5, proceeds for Church Funds
